Frequently Asked Questions:
- Where's my file?
You
should receive two emails after credit card processing:
1.
Receipt from PayPal
2. Email
from SchematicSymbol.com with download information.
After
credit card processing, PayPal generates and sends an email
to this site as notification of payment. This site then generates
and sends and email to the buyer with information needed to download
purchased files.
Please check bulk or spam folders for these emails since
some servers will filter automated or generated emails.
- How to place all parts of a heterogeneous symbol or
-
"Where are the rest of the parts of this symbol?"
The symbols provided on SchematicSymbol.com are built as
“heterogeneous” components, meaning that there are multiple parts of
one symbol and are different. There are multiple methods of placing
them on the schematic sheet.
Before being able to use the symbols, the schematic library has
to be added to the design. This can be done easily by using the
shortcut for placing parts “P” or by going to the menu and selecting
“Place” -> Part. In the pop-up window, select “Add Library” and
select the library. It is advised to keep all the libraries in a
central repository and not a local project directory.
After the Library has been added to the design, all of the symbols
that are part of the library are listed when the library is
selected.
The different parts in the library can be placed one by one,
selecting for every new part the appropriate “Part” (letter or
number) from the drop-down box.
An alternate way to achieve the same result is to place as many
parts as shown in the documentation of every symbol. All will
typically have the “Designator” “A”.
Select the second part placed on the schematic sheet. Right click
and from the pop-up window select “Edit Properties”. In the
“Properties” window look for the “Designator” field and when this is
selected, a pop-up window with all the possible parts appears. The
user can select the desired part (“A”, “B”, “C”, etc.) and then
close the “Properties” window. The new part selected should appear
now on the schematic.
- How can I edit the symbols?
If the format used by our team is not the one that better fits the
schematic, the user can re-arrange the pins very easily.
Select the part that needs changes -> Right-click -> “Edit Part”.
The Library Editor window starts, showing the component to be
edited.
Note: You can change the editor to view all the parts in the package
by selecting “View” -> “Package” from the context sensitive menu.
Double-click on the part of the symbol that needs editing. The part
will appear in the symbol editor. The user can change the position
of the pins on the package, pin names, and pin properties.
